Superb Mike. From Sean O'Hagan in London
Stumbled across this show and there was Mike Figgis articulating everything I have been speculating on ( quietly I might add ) and as Mike says ,just waiting for the crash to happen . Anyone who works in music ( or the music industry) will agree that the industry as we know it is dead . It is only time , and a very short time at that , until the same happens to film . We must look at that very pertinent point that since the 50's we have been pedalling an idealised version of rebellion as art and over-celebrating the culture of youth or the forever young and basically we should be bored. Great nuggets of thought on this show . I have to say , radio is storming through these peculiar times claiming the new ground as its own. Radio is very instinctively courting the internet in a brilliant way . Perhaps it's the starting point for the great reconstruction.
