Mr and Mrs Hasse
Saturday 21 April 2007 13:00-14:00 (Radio 3)
The programme profiles the German-born composer Hasse, who married the widely celebrated mezzo-soprano, Faustina Bordoni.
Hasse enjoyed great success both at home in Germany and in Italy, but this was short lived. Lucie Skeaping plays chamber, vocal and orchestral music by Hasse, and recounts tales of his diva-wife's behaviour in the opera house.
