The Two Gentlemen of Valasna, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play of a similar name, has been adapted for BBC Radio 3 by producer Roger Elsgood and director Willi Richards. It was recorded on location in Maharashtra, India earlier this year with a cast drawn from the Bollywood, Indian television and the Mumbai English-speaking theatre traditions. The story is set in the (fictional) neighbouring Princely States of Malpur and Valasna in the weeks leading up to the Indian Mutiny of 1857.
