2.00pm British Symphony Series: Michael Tippett (1905-1998)
This week's programmes feature the complete cycle of Tippet's four symphonies, performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and including historic recordings conducted by the composer himself. This series is complemented with all five piano concertos by Beethoven, a composer with whose music Tippett had a deep and lifelong relationship.
