3/5. An opera by the Italian composer Franco Alfano based on a classic of the Sanskrit theatre, Kalidasa's Sakuntala. There's a Chinese focus, featuring the newly crowned BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, Shen Yang, plus Bach performed in Japan and some 'Turkish' Mozart played on a piano complete with percussive effects!
