2/8. Reflecting this year's Venetian theme, the Belcea Quartet perform music by the Festival's inspiration, Benjamin Britten. Also included in the programme is Beethoven's middle period F major Quartet, written for Prince Razumovsky.

3/5. An opera by the Italian composer Franco Alfano based on a classic of the Sanskrit theatre, Kalidasa's Sakuntala. There's a Chinese focus, featuring the newly crowned BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, Shen Yang, plus Bach performed in Japan and some 'Turkish' Mozart played on a piano complete with percussive effects!
