A series of concerts recorded at the 2007 Fiddlefest, which takes place within the historic walls of Londonderry and showcases the violin in all its many guises including jazz, traditional and classical.
3/4. Recorded at the Guildhall in Derry, violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky and pianist Katya Apekisheva present Romantic repertoire for the violin. Grieg's dramatic Sonata No 3 is the last piece of chamber music he completed at his home, Troldhaugen, in 1887, and is coupled with one of Cesar Franck's most admired works.
