Sold On Song

Holding Back The Years - Simply Red

Originally recorded by Mick Hucknall's previous group the Frantic Elevators, the song was co-written by Mick when he was only 17. A slower version than the 1982 cut finally became a hit some years later.

Only reaching number 55 when originally released in November 1985, the song did much better in 1986, when the re-released version reached number 2.
