I can't believe I am still enjoying their music 20 years later, they stood out even when I was 10. As well as their music, their whole package of style and artistic flair really appeals to me too. Unfortunatly I did take their angle not to smile too far by never smiling in public as a teenager, I also copied one of Neils outfits to wear to a wedding once! But I was never bored

The Pet Shop Boys are superlative for the very reason they resist superlatives: their sense of proportion and their sense of the absurd won't allow them to walk around with plastered on smiles just in order to "promote" themselves! Thus, they appeal to the intelligent listener yearning for something authentic. Also, they are, decidedly, the fore-runners of present day electronica. An original, brilliant act, the Pet Shop Boys, are (and forgive the superlative) the best!
