The prize for Harry Warren's stubborness was an Academy Award and the first of his three Oscars, thoroughly deserved for what is probably the noisiest lullaby in the history of motion pictures!"
Alex, Kilmarnock Please! Doris and only Doris. The others just can't compete!
Anna Beatty, Ballynahinch Nobody else sings it the way Doris does!
DAWN SPRINGVILLE, NY DORIS DAY AND NO ONE ELSE SHES ONE OF A KIND.
Harvey Greif, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada After listening to all versions, I had to replay Doris' version, just to wipe the others from my mind. There is absolutely no doubt that nobody even comes close to Doris Day (sorry Frank - still love ya.)
Paul Brogan - Concord, NH - USA It's always been a wonderful song, a real toe tapper but once Miss Day recorded it, it truly became a classic. She turned a great number into a classic and you believe every word she sings and every intonation she brings. A TKO!!!
Ralph, NYC No doubt. Doris Day has the best version of the song and in her film, "Lullaby of Broadway," she and Gene Nelson had a wonderful production number at the end of the picture. Day also has the very best version of Johnny Mercer's "Hooray For Hollywood." Miss Day has always had a knack for taking an existing song and making it her own.
