A fantastic song a powerhouse of emotion and a performer that put his soul into it. No-one else could do it better.
Steve
Maria, London It has always bugged me what it is that he won't do. What is it?
Ker Garin, Burbank, California Jim Steinman is arguably one of the top five songwriters in the Rock Era, penning other epics as "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for Bonnie Tyler, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" for Celine Dion which was featured in the movie "Up Close and Personal" as well as the entire catalogue of tunes sung by Meatloaf.
eiram i love this song even though i was a child when it first came out. but i do sometimes hear it on telly, i really like this song.
Beck A fantastic song. If I had my way every one of his songs would be in this list! It's about time MeatLoaf had a bit more recognition.
The Mopar Man Texas Found this on a Google search. Meatloaf & Bob Seger seem to have a knack of singing songs a lot of people can identify with. As Steve wrote, Meatloaf puts his soul into the performance. The exchange at the end between him & the female singer rings all too true. Yeah, it may sound hokey, but think of the first girl(or guy for the women)you fell head over heels about. The song ought to be ranked higher than it is.
georgie lancashire this is one of the best songs ever. it deserves to be higher u in the chart.
theo simply the best song ever made
Tommy The song that got me into rock, a true masterpiece
Rob Main Northallerton, North Yorks Have I accidentally clicked on the 'worst songs' list. This is overblown, self indulgent claptrap, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
