 | | BEST DANCE BAND | | | Which band playing music for dancing at ceilidhs, barn dances etc has made the biggest impression on you over the last year?
This new category has been added to reflect the huge upsurge in popularity of ceilidhs and dances across the folk scene and to celebrate the artists who play for them. The band you vote for can play any style of music for dancing (including but not limited to English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, European etc) and origin is not restricted to the UK.
As an aide-memoire, here's a list of some bands who fall into this category. You can, of course, vote for any other band of your choice. Feel free to tell us of a particular dance/ceilidh or why you think the artists deserve the award.
Send us your vote and you could be joining Radio 2 at the Folk Awards next February. All entries will be put into a draw. The winner will receive a pair of tickets and accommodation for the evening of the Folk Awards, which will take place at The Brewery, London on February 14th 2005.
Fill in the form below with your nomination. | | | | |
Note: Voting will be monitored and any attempts at block voting will result in the removal of that artist from the running. Only votes from a valid e-mail address will be accepted. Winners must make their own travel arrangements to London.
