Sharleen Spiteri

Sharleen Spiteri joined Ken Bruce live from our Maida Vale studios on Friday 18 July to play tracks from her debut solo album Melody as well as classic Texas hits.

Asked about the session, Ken Bruce said "It was a thrill to have Sharleen doing such a brilliant live session for the show. She has one of the best voices in Britain and her debut solo album is an absolute belter."

    ABOUT SHARLEEN

    Formed in Glasgow in 1988, Texas were one of the great success stories of 90s pop, selling over one and a half million copies of their 1996 album White On Blonde in the UK alone.

    Sharleen's debut solo album Melody (a recent Radio 2 Album of the Week) features a blend of influences from 60s soul to 50s rock’n’roll and doo-wop. Sharleen wrote the whole album and also produced it herself.
