This month one of the music industry's best-loved buildings celebrates its 75th anniversary and Radio 2 is broadcasting a special series of programmes to mark this important cultural anniversary.
We've got exclusive Radio 2 performances from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Jamie Cullum and Stereophonics plus a live radio dramatisation of Brief Encounter all recorded in one day at the famous Maida Vale studios in London, plus special archive programmes featuring archive performances from the likes of David Bowie, Mika, Lionel Richie and Robbie Williams.
The BBC's Maida Vale studios started life in 1934 when the BBC Symphony Orchestra moved into this former ice rink. Since then the studios have welcomed the biggest names from all genres of music, from unsigned bands at the start of their careers to stadium-filling rock and classical stars performing one-off BBC concerts and sessions.
