
Radio 2 celebrated one of the UK's greatest new bands, returning to Leeds as hometown heroes after two massive albums and hit singles. Kaiser Chiefs played Elland Road on Saturday 24 May. It was the band's big homecoming gig and as they support Leeds United, Elland Road maked perfect sense as a venue.

Kaiser Chiefs have invited The Enemy, Kate Nash, Young Knives and Friendly Fires to be on the bill. Kaiser Chiefs have recently been working on new tracks with producer Mark Ronson for their third album which follows the multi-platinum albums 'Employment' (2005) and 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' (2007). Kaiser Chiefs have been invited to play with Sir Paul McCartney at Anfield stadium on 1June as part of 'The Liverpool Sound' event.

Kaiser Chiefs have been nominated for an Ivor Novello award: 'Ruby' is up for most performed title of 2007-2008.
