Broken Family Band

The Broken Family Band

The Broken Family Band hail from London and Cambridge and are comprised of Steve on vocals, Jay on guitars, Gav on bass and Mick on the 'drum set'. They've been a band for four years and have released three albums and a bag full of singles for the Track & Field, Snowstorm and Glitterhouse record labels.

Their most recent album, 'Welcome Home, Loser', got its name after singer Steve had a dream that his best friend returned home from living in New Zealand.

"In the dream we threw a party and there was a banner that said 'Welcome Home', but it had 'Loser' on the end and I just thought that was a great name for an album!" Aays Steve, as the other band members burst out laughing.

Although 'Welcome Home, Loser' has only been available for 2 months, the band are ready to get back in the studio again. "We're about 3 songs off having another album ready," Steve explains, "We just need to find the time to record it!"

"We're going through a bit of a transition at the moment, we're moving away from the country stuff into more rock'n'roll - still doing stupid stuff as well though."

It's true that the band do get through material at an amazing rate even with the restrictions of the nine to five work pattern and only having one night a week to rehearse.

"I think a band sticking out ten songs in one year, touring that for two years with 3 b-sides is pathetic! It'll be hilarious if we don't get our other album out this year though!"
