One Big Sunday - Leicester
Busted didn't invent the 'jump'
Last updated 18 July 2003

Busted

Busted have been in to Radio 1 to talk about their performance at One Big Sunday this weekend in Leicester.

They admitted that before they go on stage, they like a couple of beers to calm themselves down and then some Skittles for a sugar rush.

As for their performance, there may be something missing - their trademark jump with low-slung guitars. They got quite heated when we asked them about it, and told us it wasn't meant to be their gimmick:

Charlie (slowly): "Yes..."

Matt: "Yes, it's become a bit of an albatross now."

Charlie: "Yes, it's not really a trademark…"

Matt: "The thing is, we didn't intend to do this thing, you know…"

James: "In case you hadn't noticed, loads of bands jump…"

Charlie: "Yeah that's what I'm saying! It's been done for so long, it's just a pop band hasn't done it before', it's like 'oh, let's catch on to that', but actually, that's bull***."

Busted told the Jo Whiley show the songs that make up the 'Soundtrack Of Their Lives'
