Tamsyn Kent
Reporter
Where are you from?I'm a Lincolnshire lass.
What were you doing before Radio 1?
I presented 60Seconds on BBC Three and before that I was a reporter for BBC Three News. And way before that I worked for local radio in Lincolnshire.
Best part of the job?
The sense of achievement after hearing your story on air.
Worst on air moment?
When a fly landed on my nose in the middle of a bulletin. I had to keep going even though it was really tickling and kept buzzing into the microphone. Listeners must have thought I'd gone mad.
Three words that describe you?
Tamsyn Louise Kent.
Advice to anyone who wants to get started in journalism:
Be tenacious. Call the people you want to work for and come up with lots of ideas. Be prepared to give your time for free.
Who would you most like to interview?
Right now, Katie Holmes. I really want to know what's going on there.
My top three albums are:
The Magic Numbers - The Magic Numbers
Angie Stone - Mahogany Soul
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Who's your favourite news reporter?
BBC Three's James Dagwell. I love it when he winks at the camera!
How do you spend your time off?
Baking cakes and dreaming of traveling the world.
If I wasn't a news reporter I'd be...
A stuntwoman.
