What were you doing before Radio 1?
Working as a reporter for a commercial radio station in London.
Best part of the job/ thing I am most proud of?
Just getting to see and do things that I would never normally experience and meeting some very interesting people.
Worst on air moment?
Being forced to do a very dodgy impression of Peter Kay during a news bulletin.
Three words that describe you:
Sarcastic, optimistic, impatient.
Advice to anyone who wants to get started in journalism:
Watch, listen and read as much news coverage as you can and decide what you like and why. Get as much experience as you can and make yourself useful while you’re doing it.
Where would you like to be in 10 years' time?
On a world tour.
What's on your walls at home?
A big orange picture and some photos I took of mountains.
Who would you most like to interview?
Sir David Frost.
If you could be famous, what would you be famous for?
Getting away with it for far too long.

Who's your favourite news reporter and why?
Gavin Hewitt is very good – makes whatever he talks about sound important but keeps it simple.
How do you spend your time off?
Going to the theatre, finding reasons not to go to the gym and seeing my friends.
