Reporter Profiles

Hannah Morrison

Hannah Morrison

Reporter

Where are you from?
Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

What were you doing before Radio 1?
Reporting in BBC local radio.

Best part of the job?
Not knowing what to expect when you come in to the office in the morning.

Worst on air moment?
Attempting to beat the world record for eating baked beans with a cocktail stick live on air. I should have thought that one through first. Five minutes of slurping doesn't really make great radio. I'm sure there were many many many people that switched over to another station.

Three words that describe you?
Honest, hard-working and happy - not sure if that counts as four though.

Advice to anyone who wants to get started in journalism:
Do work experience - I can't tell you how important it is... get yourself in to as many places as you can and offer to do as many jobs for them as you can. You might not get any money for all your hard work but I can guarantee it will pay off in the long run.

Who would you most like to interview?
Kate Moss - that girl never does interviews but I bet she's got some great stories to tell.

My top three albums ever are:
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
Stone Roses - Stone Roses
Killers - Hot Fuss

Who's your favourite news reporter?
Am I allowed to say John Craven?

How do you spend your time off?
With my friends.

If wasn't a news reporter I'd be...
An actress.
