FINCH
:::Official site
  • When the band first started Alex worked at Target (a big retail store). He worked the graveyard shift so he could have time to practice with the band. All the lack of sleep got to him a little and he came up with an alternate personality named Bocephus while he was at the job.
  • In Osaka, Japan, the band was launching into their first song when Randy spun around and rocked an air kick. Unfortunately, it didn't end up with just air. at the same time a girl fan leaped forward and caught Randy's foot square in her face. Randy spent the rest of the song in the pit with the girl making sure she was ok. Welcome to Japan.
  • Randy was only 17 years old when the band signed with Drive-Thru so his Dad had to co-sign the record deal.
  • There's nothing like making friends with the UK press - after one of their shows in the UK, and after several sakes, Derek felt it neccessary to pour an entire beer over a Kerrang journo's head. nice to meet ya.
  • On special occasions Derek has a special dance he breaks out called the "clam digger".

The ExplosionTHE EXPLOSION
:::Official site
  • The band's greatest moment was when they supported Joe Strummer in US and shared a 'special' cigarette with him.
  • Matt the singer is obsessed with Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm and can quote chunks at length. The band joke about converting him to Judaism and getting him his own chat show
  • When the band recently played Liverpool, Damian the bassist, left his passport behind and realised when they were in London, 8 hours before they had to get ferry to Belgium. They had to drive back and get it... They made the ferry.
  • They used their advance from Virgin America to start up their own label and put out singles by The Distillers and The Bronx.
