The Maccabees - 8 July 2009

The Maccabees came in to the live lounge and performed their single Can You Give It, and covered Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow.

The band were quite nervous, but there was no need to be - they were ace! We squeezed all 5 of them into the Live Lounge at Radio 1 HQ. As you can see from the photos, they had a toy Glockenspiel with a picture of a turkey on it - no, we don't know why either.

They're really looking forward to playing T in the Park this weekend! They talked about cheese rolling, friend of the band Matt Horne, their love for Captain Planet, cricket and Felix reveals he was called Harry Potter at school because of his glasses
