Visitors to Radio 1's Big Weekend are reminded of the remote location of the event and the importance of pre-planning appropriate travel arrangements to ensure safe return to and from the site. Public safety is of prime importance for the organisers and all those involved in bringing this event to Carlisle.
We would therefore encourage the use of one of the 2 possible ways of getting to and from the event: Public car parking will be available on site and a coach service will be provided from many areas of Cumbria.
There are no designated footways on many of the approach roads to the event location and traffic management will be in place for the duration of the event. Walking to and from the event is therefore strongly discouraged. Please note planned engineering work between Preston and Glasgow will affect those wishing to travel to the event by train.

There will be car parking available at Radio 1's Big Weekend. Car parking can only be paid on the day. There will also be shuttle buses in operation. For more information on this and how to purchase shuttle bus tickets in advance visit Carlisle Tourism Partnership website.
