BBC Radio 1'sBig Weekend - 9th-10th May Lydiard Park Swindon

Line up / Thee Vicars

Introduction

Thee Vicars are 4 teenagers from the small market town of Bury St. Edmunds. Frustrated by the lack of a local scene in their town and desperate to get out as soon as possible, they formed the band in 2007. Their raw, retro garage rock sound recalls the Rolling Stones in their early days, but with a punk edge akin to 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster and The Hives.

The band have already won a Best Punk Band award at the 2008 Indy Awards (presented by the aforementioned Buzzcocks) and will be supporting Black Lips on their tour of Scandinavia in June.

Thee Vicars are Reverend Mike Whittaker (bass and vocals), Reverend Chris Langeland (guitar), Reverend Marcus Volkert (guitar) and Reverend Will Pattenden (drums).
