Sound of Guns are Andy Metcalfe (vocals), Lee Glynn (guitar), Nathan Crowley (guitar), John Coley (bass) and Si Finley (drum). They're from Liverpool, but don't go thinking they're taking the well-trodden Merseybeat path. Sound of Guns exude the same kind of anthemic swagger as Coventry's The Enemy. Their early demos and live shows have shown their knack for writing a chorus of epic proportions.
They released Alcatraz in December 2008 as a download-only single through iTunes and it swiftly gathered plays on Radio 1, 6 Music and BBC Liverpool (Dave Monks has had it on repeat in his show, The Pool).
With a UK tour planned for March/April 2009, a supporting slot with The Zutons at St Georges Hall in May and a main stage gig at Lattitude Festival, it's looking like a busy year for Sound of Guns. Here's your chance to see them on the small stage before they truly explode.
