Line up / Kids Love Lies

Introduction

Ever since the BBC's Sound of 2009 poll tipped Little Boots, La Roux and Lady GaGa for success, this year has been labelled the year of female-fronted electro. But while Kids Love Lies may be lady-led, there are no synths on show here, just good old fashioned guitars, drums and riot-grrrl attitude.

Influenced by the likes of Pretty Girls Make Graves and Be Your Own Pet, KLL formed in late 2007. Like Elephants, they've enjoyed great support from BBC Kent Introducing and have also been played by Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens.

Recently, they found themselves in the pages of the NME, who described singer Ellen as sounding "pretty much like Kate Nash would if she gave up the prim and proper act and thrashed herself into a full on hissy fit." The band's new single Count In My Head is out on April 13th. If you like your music raw and buzzing with punk-pop hooks, look no further than Kids Love Lies.
