Skanking their way out of Wimbledon since February 2008 come Gold Teeth. Put forward for Radio 1's Big Weekend by Gary Crowley, who picked the band for his 'London Calling' feature on BBC London, the band play a mix of electro rock which draws on reggae, afro-beat and calypso. Sounds odd, but it works.
The band have been compared to Blur in their early days, and not without reason. Gold Teeth are big fans, apparently, and you can hear a touch of the Albarn in Joe da Costa's vocals, and more than a smidgen of Mr. Coxon in Nick Rowson guitar lines.
Their debut single, Everybody, was released on 23rd February. If you're lucky enough to catch it live at Big Weekend, we guarantee it'll be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
