After a string of sexy, electro pop hits, Alison Goldfrapp decamped to the country to write Seventh Tree, an album combining pastoral influences with a through-the-looking-glass sense of English oddity. Goldfrapp's disco folk was a highlight of Sunday afternoon at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

I had never seen this band perform live before and was incredibly impressed. Alison's voice was absolutely faultless, I have been converted and look forward to purchasing a few of their CD's. Better than Madonna...at least they didn't resort to miming!
