Freeman and FBK
DJ Edu meets Freeman, a Zimbabwean dancehall artist on the rise, and FBK, a Tunisian rapper speaking up for women.
Zimbabwean dancehall artist Freeman has had a long slow journey to success, but he is still on the way up. His first big hit was Joina City in 2013, and he’s been dropping bangers and winning awards ever since. This year he had his first sold-out show in London.
FBK is a young female rapper from Tunisia who is using her voice to raise awareness about misogyny in her country. She says rappers like her, and women in general, face incredibly sexist attitudes, and she is determined to fight this.
