Shashl, a groundbreaking Afro-soul singer from Zimbabwe, tells DJ Edu how she found her sound.
Shashl is a groundbreaking Afro-Soul singer and multi-instrumentalist, who sings in Shona and in English. She released her debut single, No More, in 2017, and became the first female artist from Zimbabwe to be signed by Universal. A year later, she was nominated for an Afrimma award in the best female southern Africa category, and won best newcomer at the Zimbabwe music awards. Since then, Shashl has found her sound - a mix of RnB, Afrobeats and a bit of Afro-fusion.
