Rayvanny is one of bongo flava’s biggest stars. Part of the prolific Wasafi record label, he has spent the last few years putting out hit after hit alongside his mentor and collaborator Diamond Platinumz, each one seemingly catchier than the last. He talks DJ Edu through some of his most famous tracks, including Tetema and Amaboko, and explains why another smash, Mwanza, got him in big trouble with the government in Tanzania.
Amantle Brown found fame on Botswana’s biggest TV talent show, and now she is a judge on the same programme - but that public profile has caused the R&B star some unexpected problems.
