Mr P: Part two
In the second part of our interview, Mr P recalls the early days of P-Square, the Afrobeats duo he formed with his twin brother, and the role their Mum played in their career.
Mr P is one half of supergroup P-Square, which has had a unique place in the story of Afrobeats, inspiring both the myriad of artists who followed and a generation of young Africans.
In this programme, Mr P recalls the early days, and how, if it hadn’t been for their Mum, he and his twin brother might never have made their first record. As you’ll hear, it took quite some time for the brothers to realise just how famous they’d become, and to remember not to just jump on a Danfo, as Lagos’s public minibuses are called.
