Teni and Han-C

Finally, we got her! Ever since our launch we’ve been wanting to speak to Teni.

She’s a talented young Nigerian song writer who has written hit songs for the likes of Davido, and in the last two years she has rocketed into the Afrobeats stratosphere as an artist in her own right. Her bitter sweet love song “Case” became hugely popular – it now has over 20 million views on Youtube.

One of the remarkable things about Teni is that she has achieved this success without fitting the stereotype of the Afropop diva. As she tells DJ Edu, she doesn’t like make-up, she wears her hair natural, and prefers comfortable, loose clothes.

Also in the programme, Batswana R&B sensation Han-C - he’s one of the first to write pop songs in the Setswana language.
