The Teenagers Who Wrote Their Way to The Palace

Four prize-winning short story writers travelled thousands of miles to London for a royal reception.

Outlook makes a special trip to Buckingham Palace to celebrate four teenagers who have beaten thousands of entrants from around the world to win the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition. We meet Zahra Hussain from Pakistan, Ng Woon Neng and Janine Shum from Singapore and Floria Gu from Canada as they prepare for the journey to London. And join them as they attend a royal reception to receive their awards from Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition has been managed by the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883.
