Pakistan's cadet school for girls
Pakistan has opened its first girls cadet school. The schools promote physical and academic excellence and are an established part of the education system for boys. BBC Urdu's Asad Ali Chaudhry went to cadet school himself, and explains the significance of this development.

Uzbek stew
A video about a traditional dish served at a restaurant in northern Afghanistan turned into a surprising hit for BBC Uzbek. The dish is qovurdoq, fried lamb with onion, and the restaurant is in Sheberghan, home to many Afghan Uzbeks - including the BBC's Firuz Rahimi.
