BBC Pidgin Has Launched
After BBC Pidgin was received with mixed reaction, Rajan asks members of the team and listeners why they think it’s worth investing in.
Focus on Africa presenter, Peter Okwoche, BBC Pidgin Senior Broadcast Journalist, Ruona Meyer and listener, Michael Ojalatan join Rajan Datar to discuss the merits of the new BBC Pidgin service, which has been launched for just under two weeks. The platform has been met with mixed reaction with critics saying Pidgin is not a proper language, while BBC World Service listeners in West Africa are welcoming the launch.
