Outlook Weekend: 3067 Metres and Falling

Kevin Hines survived a 67-metre plunge from the Golden Gate Bridge and Mary Decker and Zola Budd were involved in a fall in the Olympic 3000 metre final which changed their lives.

Kevin Hines is among the one per cent of people who've jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge and survived both the 67-metre fall and the freezing water. In 1984, the athletes Mary Decker and Zola Budd were caught up in one of the most controversial moments in Olympic history during the 3000-metre track final. They were reunited 32 years later for a documentary about that incident called The Fall.
