Flu cases jump sharply in England

We find out about the situation with flu cases in the UK and around the world.

An average of 2,660 patients per day were in hospital with flu in England last week – the highest ever for this time of year and up 55% on the week before. We look at the situation in the UK and globally with two experts.

The Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado, has said cutting the cash flow to Nicolas Maduro's government is key to its removal. The Nobel Peace laureate's comments follow the seizure of a tanker off Venezuela by US forces. We speak to our reporter with BBC Mundo.

Endangered species, including tiger body parts, shark fins and pangolin scales, are being offered for sale on Facebook, BBC News has found. We speak to our colleague who has been investigating.
