Trump says European countries led by "weak people"

The US president described European countries as "decaying" nations

President Trump has described European countries as "decaying" nations led by "weak people", who've failed to control immigration. Mr Trump was speaking to the website Politico after the publication of a new US National Security Strategy, which argued that democracy was under threat in Europe, and promised that America would "cultivate resistance" to this trend. Our reporter tells us more.

Sudan's air force has carried out bombings in which at least 1,700 civilians have died in attacks on residential neighbourhoods, markets, schools and camps for displaced people, according to an investigation into air raids in the country's civil war. Our correspondent explains.
