South Africa calls gender violence a national disaster

South Africa experiences some of the world's highest levels of gender-based violence.

South Africa has classified violence against women a national disaster following an online campaign culminating in countrywide protests on Friday. We speak to our correspondent and hear from two women who have been victims of sexual violence.

President Zelensky has said Ukraine faces one of the most difficult moments in its history, as it risks losing US support over President Trump's plan for ending the war caused by Russia's invasion. Our US correspondent joins from Washington.

There are fears nearly 100 pupils and staff have been abducted by armed men from a Catholic school in central Nigeria, the second mass school kidnapping this week. Our reporter has been speaking to people in Niger state where the attack happened.
