Victims speak out: A survivor on exposing Jeffrey Epstein
A review of the week with the latest news.
We turn the spotlight on Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and those who helped expose him. He never stood trial, he was found dead in his cell in August 2019, months after sex-trafficking charges. Earlier, he had served 13 months in 2008 for soliciting a minor, yet continued to abuse girls for years after. Marina Lacerda met him in New York in 2002 when she was just 14. She tells us what happened next.
Also, Ukraine is about to mark 4 years since Russian forces invaded. The bloodiest war in Europe since WW2, nearly 2 million Russian and Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and injured, with millions more people displaced.
And the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics will be held for the first time in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Arena di Verona in Verona. The ancient amphitheatre was built in approximately 30 AD.
Joining presenter Julian Worricker to discuss these stories are Leslie Vinjamuri, president of Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Hugh Lovatt, a Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
