Thailand voters head to polls in high-stakes election

An election was called early after a series of coalition governments had collapsed.

Millions across Thailand are heading to the polls today to elect a new parliament. But all eyes are on what happens after the election as powerful unelected bodies may ultimately decide who actually runs the country.

Also on the programme: the publisher of the Washington Post is stepping down -- days after the newspaper announced mass lay-offs; and Norway investigates its former prime minister on suspicion of corruption over Epstein ties.

Presenter Julian Worricker is joined by panellists Latika Bourke, an Australian author and journalist, and Steve Erlanger, chief diplomatic correspondent for the New York Times in Europe.
