US DOJ releases thousands of 'Epstein files'
The justice department publishes heavily redacted files in face of legal deadline.
The US Department of Justice has released thousands of court files related to the late financier and sex offender Jeffery Epstein, following months of pressure on President Donald Trump. Many of the published files have been redacted, drawing criticism both sides of the political aisle, but the Trump administration says details have been withheld to protect victims' identities.
Also in the programme: Donald Trump claims Venezuela's oil industry is an American creation and labels its previous nationalisation 'theft'. We explore how that has gone down in Caracas. And with AFCON 2025 due to kick off in Morocco this weekend, we ask whether the benefits of hosting the African football tournament, outweigh the costs.
Joining Krupa Padhy to discuss this and more are Bloomberg's Brussels Bureau chief, Suzanne Lynch and The Economist's Defence Editor Shashank Joshi.
