
COP30: No mention of giving up fossil fuels
The summit highlighted how global consensus on addressing climate issues has fractured
Weeks of discussions and all-night haggling at COP30 in Brazil have resulted in a draft deal. It includes steps to review trade barriers and to triple the financial aid to developing countries affected by extreme weather events. But there was no mention of phasing out fossil fuels.
