Zelensky said Ukraine faced one of the most difficult moments in its history

Donald Trump has given President Zelenskyy until next Thursday to accept a US. peace plan widely viewed as favouring the Kremlin. In a national address, Zelenskyy said he was working constructively with Washington on the proposals.

Also on today’s programme: Zohran Mamdani makes his first trip to the White House after being elected mayor of New York City; two states in northern Nigeria order all public schools to close amid rising security concerns; and climate delegates struggle to reach agreement on key issues -- particularly a roadmap to move the world away from fossil fuels.
