Venezuelan president accuses the US of 'fabricating war'

The US has been increasing its military presence in the Caribbean

Venezuela's president, Nicolás Maduro, has accused the United States of "fabricating a new, eternal war" by deploying the world's largest warship. The U.S. has been increasing its military presence in the Caribbean, sending warships, a nuclear submarine, and F-35 aircraft in what it says is a campaign to target drug traffickers.

Also in today's programme: Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has been in London for talks with more than twenty allied countries to discuss measures to fight back against Russia's invasion. And a new behind-the-scenes documentary about one of Hollywood's greatest directors, Martin Scorsese, is out on Netflix now.

Presenter Krupa Padhy is joined by Shachi Kurl, president of Angus Reid polling Institute in Vancouver, Canada and Yannis Palaiologos, journalist with the daily newspaper Kathimerini and Inside Story, an investigative news online publication.
