US deal reached with Syria

Syria will now join a US led colation to combat the Islamic State.

The Syrian President, Ahmed al Sharaa has been meeting with Donald Trump in the White House and says it will join a US led coalition to combat the Islamic State. We take a look at this historic visit, the shifting alliances and what this means for Syrian people.

We head to the United States where the Senate has agreed a compromise funding package to end the longest federal government shutdown in American history. Eight Democrats voted with Republicans to back the deal. We look at the friction this has created in the party.
