Trump attends Republican convention

Donald Trump has appeared in public for the first time since an attempt on his life two days ago, with a large white bandage on right ear, and was greeted by supporters with thunderous applause and cheers.

Earlier on, the former president had officially been crowned the party's nominee for the upcoming presidential election. He also named a senator from Ohio, JD Vance, as his running mate.
