
Hamas confirms killing of Yahya Sinwar
Hamas says hostages will only be freed if Israel withdraws from the Gaza Strip.
A top Hamas official has given the group's first official confirmation that its leader, Yahya Sinwar, has been killed by Israel. Khalil al-Hayya said that Sinwar died in combat and that his death would only strengthen Hamas. He also said that Israeli hostages would not be freed until Israel ended its offensive in Gaza.
