
Fighting in western Russia draws closer to nuclear power plant
The UN nuclear agency has urged Russia and Ukraine to exercise maximum restraint
President Putin has declared a "federal level" state of emergency on day four of a large Ukrainian military incursion into the Russian border region of Kursk, with more troops and munitions being rushed to the area. As fighting draws closer to a nuclear power plant we hear from analyst Professor Michael Clarke who explains what Ukraine is hoping to achieve. Also on the programme: Venezuela's 10-day block on X, formerly Twitter; and Botswana declares a half-day national holiday to celebrate Olympian Letsile Tebogo, the first African to win Gold in the 200-metre sprint.
