US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is due to visit Turkey

There are calls for a ceasefire as Israeli offensive in northern Gaza continues.

Israeli ground forces have been advancing overnight into northern Gaza. Around 400,000 people are believed to be in the area, which has been under heavy bombardment. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is heading to Turkey to continue his talks with leaders in the Middle East. Leaders of Arab countries have been calling for a ceasefire.
